Two men – including a South Toms River resident – have been arrested on charges of drug trafficking after an investigation led to the discovery of 360 grams of cocaine and $15,000 in cash, authorities said.

Joshua Hunter, 53, of South Toms River, and Mary Copestick, 41, of Clementon, were facing charges. Their arrests came after a multi-agency investigation identified a residence in Trenton and a residence in Clementon as being utilized the pair to allegedly sell illicit drugs.

According to a statement from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, investigators from the prosecutor’s office and Brick police department effectuated a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle being operated by Copestick with Hunter as a passenger on Feb. 26, 2026. Copestick and Hunter were taken into custody without incident; as they were being removed from the vehicle, detectives “observed approximately 360 grams of cocaine in plain view.” Detectives then executed court-authorized search warrants on the residences in Trenton and Clementon, “leading them to seize approximately $150,000 in assets suspected to be the proceeds of criminal activity.”
