Members of the Brick Township Police Department’s Street Crimes unit arrested two local residents, one from town, while investigating suspicious activity reported on Mathis Drive Wednesday night.
According to Sgt. Jim Kelly, detectives stopped a vehicle “associated with the reported activity” at about 8:30 p.m. The detectives identified the occupants as Daniel Brennan, 53, of Manchester, and Alyssa Thomas, 27, of Brick.
The investigation that ensued along with the traffic stop revealed methamphetamine, heroin, syringes and other drug paraphernalia, Kelly said. Brennan and Thomas were charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of hypodermic syringes and possession of paraphernalia. Thomas received an additional charge for possession of heroin.

Brennan’s charges were placed on a summons and he was released. Thomas’s charges were placed on a warrant and she was lodged in Ocean County Jail. No photos of the suspects were available.
