Brick Township’s Republican organization has announced its full slate of candidates for township council in November’s municipal election.

The local GOP organization previously confirmed that it has endorsed school board president Madeline Colagiovanni Iannarone as its candidate for mayor in 2025. Over the weekend, the party announced its full slate of candidates for seats on the governing body, plus the departure of resident Robert Canfield from the race. Canfield, a statement from the party said, has bowed out to focus on a personal business venture.

With three seats up for grabs, a major amount of influence on the council will be at stake in this year’s election, as well as the mayor’s office. Brick has elected just one Republican – incumbent Councilman Perry Albanese – to serve in municipal government in more than a decade. Albanese will now seek re-election to his seat, supplanting Canfield on the ticket.

The GOP will also run Gregory J. Cohen and Lisa Reina to run for the other available seats on council.

The ticket was described in a statement from the party as a “pro-Trump, pro-Brick Republican team that believes in law and order, fiscal responsibility, and putting the people before politics.”

Iannarone will face incumbent Democratic Mayor Lisa Crate for the township’s top office. The Brick Democratic organization has endorsed incumbent Councilwoman Heather deJong, and newcomers Dan Ward and Rocco Lepore, for the council seats.
