Memorial Day Ceremonies to be Held in Island Towns

Island communities are planning several Memorial Day ceremonies to honor members of the armed services who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their country.

Lavallette will host its annual ceremony at Memorial Park, located at Bay Boulevard and Brooklyn Avenue, on Monday, May 26, 2025. There ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.

Seaside Park has scheduled its Memorial Day Service for Monday, May 26, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. on the Police Department Lawn (1 Municipal Plaza, Seaside Park, NJ 08752). The service will include an address by Mayor John A. Peterson, the playing of the National Anthem, the singing of “America the Beautiful” and a keynote speech U.S. Army Col. Bryan R. Dunker, Deputy Commander of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. There will also be a rifle salute and the playing of taps.

There will be a Memorial Day service in Seaside Heights at American Legion Post 351, Monday, May 26 at 11 a.m. The Legion post is located at 1400 Bay Boulevard.
