Truck Show, Alpacas, And Fire Engines Headline Seaside Heights Weekend Events

Summer may be over, but Seaside Heights will have plenty to do this weekend – especially for children and families – as the fall season gets underway with trucks, furry friends and up-close views of emergency equipment.

Truck Show

The Seaside Truck Show will roll into town this weekend, with the family-friendly event coming to Bay Boulevard parking area on the west side of town. The show will feature all makes and models of trucks, Jeeps and SXS vehicles (Polaris, Can-Am, etc.) on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Alpacas on the Boardwalk

Lucky Leo’s will feature a unique event in which friendly alpacas will appear at the popular boardwalk arcade. The meet-and-greet will “bring the farm to you” from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 4. Lucky Leo’s is located at 315 Boardwalk.

Alpacas, native to South America,are a camelid species that lives in social groups and whose hair is prized for its soft fleece-like texture. The animals are “soft, fluffy, and ready for selfies,” the arcade’s announcement said.

Sirens and Smiles

National Fire Safety Week begins this weekend, and in Seaside Heights, families will be able to get an up-close look at fire engines, rescue equipment and police vehicles at Casino Pier on Sunday.

The “Touch a Truck” style event will be held in front of the arcade, next to the pier entrance. The event will feature a hands-on, full sensory experience exploring multiple first responder vehicles, police cars, ambulances, fire trucks and more. There will be a free meet-and-greet with first responder characters as well as free face painting. There is also a special “Junior Firefighter Package” for $1 which includes a Casino Pier Jr. Firefighter hat, a fire safety tattoo and fire safety sticker craft.

The “Sirens and Smiles” event will be held Sunday, Oct. 5 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Casino Pier on the boardwalk.
