The first of two public meetings to discuss the process of Seaside Park borough annexing the South Seaside Park neighborhood of Berkeley Township is scheduled for Monday night, with the next set in two weeks.

The New Jersey Supreme Court earlier this year paved the way for a potential de-annexation of the neighborhood from Berkeley Township, which would be annexed into Seaside Park if borough officials accept the petition from residents. The mayor and council will host two sessions on the proposal – Monday, Nov. 10, 2025 at 6 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 24, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.

The purpose of both special meetings is to hold Community Listening Sessions to allow the public an opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed annexation of South Seaside Park, the announcement said. The sessions will include a brief presentation by Government Strategies Group, a consulting firm hired by the borough to analyze the ramifications of the annexation, followed by a public comment session.
