Seaside Park Police Blotter: Protecting Homes, Lending a Hand

Seaside Park police have released their periodic blotter, showing a sampling of calls to which the department responded over the last week. The total number of calls handled by the department was 96. The blotter appears below:

Officer Request – Police were dispatched to the area of North Bayview and Lafayette for a caller who was not at home, saw a vehicle on their cameras pull into their driveway and an occupant was looking around the property that was not authorized to be there. Officers arrived and the vehicle was already gone that the caller described. The residence was checked, and nothing appeared to be disturbed, and no signs of forced entry were observed.

Verbal Dispute – Police responded to the area of Porter and the Boulevard for a verbal dispute between household members. Officers arrived and spoke to the individuals involved. The male was there to retrieve personal belongings, and the female became agitated, and a verbal argument began. Police were able to mediate the situation and stood by while the male collected his belongings.

Community Policing – Police responded to assist a subject who had fallen in their residence and could not get back up on their own. Officers arrived and helped the subject back up and into a chair. They also made sure they did not require any further medical treatment.

First Aid – Police and Tri- Boro First Aid Squad responded to assist a patient who was having trouble breathing. Officers and EMS arrived and assessed the patient and administered oxygen. The patient was later transported to Community Medical Center for treatment.

Alarm – Police were dispatched to a burglar alarm activation on the ocean block of 8th Avenue. Officers arrived and began to check the residence. The exterior was checked, and no signs of forced entry were observed. All doors and windows were found to be secure, and it was determined that the alarm was set off in error.

Well Being Check – Police responded to the area of Stockton Avenue and Central to conduct a well being check. The caller stated the subject had not shown up to work in two days and were concerned for their well being. Officers arrived and were able to make contact with the subject who was asleep when they knocked. Officers spoke to him, and he appeared to be fine. The caller was advised of our findings.

Open Door – While on patrol in the area of O Street and Ocean Avenue Officers observed an open door. The property was checked, and nothing appeared to disturbed or damaged. It was determined to have been caused by the wind. The door was secured.
