It’s that time of the year for the wearin’ of the green, and the St. Patrick’s Day festivities will be kicking off soon at the Upper Shores branch of the Ocean County Library in Lavallette. The library will host “Songs of Ireland: Celtic Music with Charlie Zahm” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, an announcement said.
The even will be a “musical celebration of all things Irish” with singer Charlie Zahm. Attendees are encouraged to sing along with the “beautiful old songs of the Auld Sod, of Dublin City and Molly Malone, of the sea and the shamrock, and many more that make Irish music some of the best in the world.”
Zahm is one of the most popular soloists at Celtic music festivals, Maritime, and American Traditional music events anywhere east of the Mississippi. He is known to weave music with Scottish and Irish history for his audiences. The event is free, but registration is required for the program.
