A Burger King restaurant in Toms River is seeking to expand its drive-through lanes, similar to plans proffered by many fast casual restaurant chains that have brought proposals to local land use boards as digital orders have come to represent the majority of their business.
The zoning board on Feb. 18, 2026 is set to hear the application by Parade Restaurants LLC, which will present its plan for the Burger King restaurant at 44 Route 37, located off the westbound side of the highway prior to the Garden State Parkway interchange and diagonally across from the Lester Glenn Mazda dealership.
The company will present a plan for a “double drive-through” lane to accommodate additional traffic, as well as related site plan modifications to the property. The plan would require the board to grant variances to permit a minimum buffer area of 30 feet when 60 feet is required, provide relief from a screening requirement, and grant two variances that would allow for additional signage since the number of ordering banks would be doubled.
The meeting is scheduled for Feb. 18, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the township municipal complex, though the location may be subject to change given a recent flooding event at the building.
