Brick Township council members voted Tuesday night to solicit bids for the repaving of two main roads in town, along with several other smaller isolated streets.
The first bid solicitation covers the repaving of St. Lawrence Boulevard, a main artery in the southern portion of town that is an offshoot from Drum Point Road. The project will include the milling and overlay of St. Lawrence between Catalina and its easternmost terminus. It will consist of milling, surface course paving, traffic striping and signage. The roadway will also be engineered to divert floodwaters from the driving lanes.
A second bid includes the township’s annual contract for the repaving of “isolated streets,” which are single roadways that require paving in different areas of town when neighboring streets do not need to be repaved. One heavily-traveled road, Ridge Road – which takes a beating from traffic to and from the township’s recycling center – is included in this year’s contract. The other streets that will be repaved under the contract are Yew Place, Crate Place and Brower Drive.
