A national coffeehouse chain known for its drive-through service is planning to build its third New Jersey location in Brick after opening its first in Toms River earlier this year – with the Brick location planned for a shopping center that is hoping to see revitalization after losing two of its anchors.

7 Brew Coffee, which takes its name from the original seven coffee styles offered in its first stand, is planning to open at 51 Chambers Bridge Road, within the shopping center that houses Best Buy, Ross and West Marine. In the past, it was also home to TGI Friday’s and Bed Bath and Beyond. The business’s owner, G7B LLC, is scheduled to present its case to the township’s planning board Jan. 14, 2026.

The store would be built “within a portion of the existing shopping center parking lot,” a notice said, and would consist of an approximately 510-square foot coffee shop that would be accessible to walk-ins. The chain, however, is best known for its drive-through service, with a full drive-through circulation lane setup included as part of the proposal. The company is also proposing a 260-square foot refrigeration shed and associated lighting, parking stalls, signage and aesthetic improvements on the site.

The application calls for a number of variances, mainly due to the shape of the shopping center and previous approvals dating back years to its initial development. In one example, impervious coverage will actually decrease from 85 percent to 84 percent, but still remains higher than the 65 percent permitted. Another variance is required since 2,000 square feet of development is normally required in the highway business zone, but just 770 square feet of development is called-for in the application. Other variances are required for signage at the drive-through.

7 Brew is built around serving home-brewed coffee and other drinks at rapid speed, within a friendly environment. Its first location opened in 2017 in Rogers, AR, and has quickly grown nationwide. The coffee stand’s menu includes its signature “7 brews,” with ingredients ranging from vanilla, to mocha, to caramel, to Irish cream, as well as traditional hot and cold-brew coffee plus teas, lattes, energy drinks, fizzy drinks, shakes and a slew of flavors and additions.

The Brick location would be the chain’s third in New Jersey after the chain opened its first on Hooper Avenue in Toms River earlier this year. Since then, another 7 Brew has opened in Turnersville, and the chain is planning a future location in Clementon.

The planning board hearing is scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026 at 7 p.m. in the township municipal complex.
