Brick Township has accepted a donation of a small swath of marshland that will now be preserved as open space.
The property has no postal address, but is located in the Mandalay section of town, south of St. Lawrence Boulevard, Mandalay Road and Pilot Drive. It was donated to the town by the estate of Robert Hoen, and was granted after the Brick Open Space Savers committee sent e-mails last fall to property owners in the area seeking donations of land, according to Councilwoman Lisa Reina.
The property, an 80-by-100 foot plot, is being conveyed free of charge. The acceptance of the donation will be subject to a public hearing and final adoption at the July 21, 2026 council meeting.
