UPDATE – Nov. 5, 2025: The winners of the Board of Education election are Michael A. Mastroserio, a current school administrator in Spotswood, who was the top vote-getter with 10,439 votes; and incumbent Fran DiBenedictis, who garnered 9,941 votes.
While school board elections are technically nonpartisan in New Jersey, slates of candidates typically receiving backing from the Democrat and Republican parties. Mastroserio drew support from Democrats and DiBenedictis drew support from Republicans.
