Brick Township will remember those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack on America this Thursday, the 13th anniversary of the attack.
A remembrance ceremony and candlelight vigil will be held at the Angel in Anguish monument at Windward Beach Park at 6 p.m.
The township holds the ceremony each year to remember the 2,977 people who died, including eight from Brick. The monument, situated beside the sandy beach on the Metedeconk River, was designed by local sculptor Brian Hanlon and is engraved with the names of each Brick resident who died. The annual ceremony normally includes a prayer and an appearance by the Knights of Columbus Color Corps.
