Brick police identified and interviewed a suspect in a case of alleged child luring at the Drum Point Sports Complex last weekend, but no victims came forward to press charges, they said.
“As of today, we have not received information from anyone that was directly contacted by the subject, and do not believe anything of concern occurred,” said Sgt. Henry Drew.
Police began looking into the incident on April 11, after someone called the department to report a man at the sports complex who was asking several juveniles if they “needed a ride,” “where they lived,” and “if they wanted cigarettes,” police said. Officers arrived on scene and checked the area, eventually locating a man familiar to police that matched the description of the suspicious person. But no one who was allegedly approached by the suspect came forward to provide a statement.
