The threat of inclement weather this weekend has led Brick officials to postpone the township’s Bricktoberfest event and its accompanying 5K run, which was supposed to take place this weekend.
The full event has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 10. All runners will remain registered for the rescheduled 5k/Fun Run, the township said in a statement.
“With the certainty of tropical weather and the potential for hurricane conditions, the Township of Brick has postponed all of this weekend’s Bricktoberfest events and activities until Saturday, October 10,” according to Mayor John G. Ducey. “This includes the morning 5k and Fun Run. We must have all of the municipal resources ready to deal with a weather emergency and will not take even the small chance of exposing participants to dangerous conditions.”
