A Brick Township woman was flown to a local hospital after being struck by a car Monday night in front of the Brick Estates apartment complex on Hooper Avenue.
Vilman Nieto, 25, suffered internal injuries in the 9:35 p.m. crash, said Brick Police Sgt. Neal Pedersen. The accident occurred when Carole Kenworthy, 54, was driving her 2002 Ford Explorer northbound on Hooper Avenue, approaching the area of the apartment complex. The vehicle struck Nieto in the left lane of the roadway.
Nieto was treated at the scene by Brick Police EMS and Monoc paramedics, and flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by helicopter for treatment of internal injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by Pedersen and Ptl. Scott Dierking from the Traffic Safety Unit. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is being asked to contact the Traffic Safety Unit at 732-262-1140.
