The Brick Republican organization hosted a Police Appreciation Dinner this week, in support of law enforcement and the Brick Township Police Department.
“Over the last couple of years the climate in this country toward our law enforcement officials has deteriorated to an alarming rate,” said John Catalano, Republican Club President. “Under the theme ‘I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore,’ the Brick Township Republican Club decided that the only way to change this disturbing trend is through a grass roots/local effort since the national leaders refuse to address it.”
After a meeting in August with Chief James Riccio, the club decided to host a PBA Meeting Dinner as a show of appreciation to police officers by way of its Brick Republican Community Service Coalition, a community service arm of the club.

“Going forward we plan to do a lot more for the department, such as donating bullet proof vests, lobbying our state and federal officials for mandatory minimums for assaulting law enforcement officials and acquiring more grant money for equipment or additional personnel,” said Catalano.
