Brick police officers met with members of the community last Friday at the Brick Diner as part of the department’s first “Coffee With a Cop” event, designed to promote good relations between the department and the community.
Oct. 7, the day the program was held, is officially recognized as the National Coffee With a Cop day where every participating law enforcement agency in the United States hosts a Coffee with a Cop event on the same day.
“It is a great way for us to connect with the citizens of our town and show our appreciation for their support,” said Sgt. Neal Pedersen. “It is also a great way to learn their needs and how we can better serve them.”
The department, in a statement, thanked all those who attended, and the Brick Diner, which was a “great host.”
