A social media post led many Shore residents to believe a popular local nightspot suffered serious damage during Monday’s nor’easter.
The bar, however, said in its own social media post Tuesday that the damage was just minor and would be ready for its reopening in March. On Tuesday, waves could be seen crashing underneath the bar’s pier decking, and some pieces of wood, structure and other debris were blowing in the sand, but the business remained intact and ready to serve patrons again come spring.
Martell’s was largely destroyed in Superstorm Sandy, but re-emerged the following season after a winter-long reconstruction project. More photos are below.
