White Castle, the fast food restaurant known for its small burgers and chicken rings,is proposing to open a new location in Brick nearly seven years after previously abandoning plans to do so.
White Castle representatives will come before the township’s planning board June 14, seeking approval to construct a location at 2778 Hooper Avenue, an outparcel of the Riverwalk shopping center near the intersection of Brick Boulevard. The shopping center also includes Outback Steakhouse and Buffalo Wild Wings.

The White Caste restaurant would include a drive-through lane, the application states.
White Castle has long sought to build a location in Brick – previously, they proposed to build at the same location they are considering now – but the company never followed through and withdrew its application before the planning board.
There are currently two White Castle restaurants in Ocean County – a long-standing location in Toms River that is slated for expansion, and a new location in Lacey Township.
The latest application is scheduled to heard June 14 at 7 p.m. at the township municipal complex.
