A man was shot and killed by the Brick police officers early Sunday morning after a disturbance at a home in the Midstreams section, authorities said.
Brick police got a call at 5:33 a.m. Sunday from neighbors, who reported a disturbance at a home at the corner of Meridian and Rainbow drives. Police arrived and encountered a man who was allegedly armed, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
Officers fired their duty weapons, mortally wounding the suspect, whose name has not been released publicly. Before the encounter with police, the man who was shot had already assaulted other victims, who had to be hospitalized, said Della Fave. Those victims are being interviewed today by authorities, as well as neighbors.
