A three-time Emmy award winning actor and producer who has starred in Broadway productions will host an anti-bias program at Point Pleasant Borough High School next week.
In partnership with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Anthony J. Wilkinson will host “It Gets Better,” a program focused on anti-bullying and harassment.
Wilkinson will be speaking about his life growing up in Staten Island and being the victim of bullying and harassment by classmates and peers. Mr. Wilkinson will share his experiences and his journey from being bullied to realizing his own self-worth.

Wilkinson is the creator and star of popular stage productions “My Big Gay Italian Wedding,” “My Big Gay Italian Funeral” and “My Big Gay Italian Midlife Crisis.” He is also known for serving as associate director and editor on the soap opera “One Life to Live,” for which he won three Emmy awards.
“Mr. Wilkinson’s story is inspirational and will be beneficial to anyone that attends,” an announcement from the prosecutor’s office said.
There is no charge for attending the event and all are welcome. The program will also feature Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Vincent S. Smith, superintendent of Point Pleasant Borough schools.
The program will be presented Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 7 p.m.
