A portion of Brick Boulevard in Brick Township was closed Monday night for several hours as police investigated a crash between a 2015 Honda Civic and a 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R motorcycle.
According to Sgt. Keith Donnelly, a preliminary investigation showed that the Honda, driven by Kathleen Kornass, 69, of Brick, turned left from Brick Boulevard southbound to enter the parking lot of 55 Brick Boulevard, the Bay Harbor Plaza shopping center, and the Ninja, who was traveling north on Brick Boulevard.
The Ninja had the right of way, Donnelly said, but the department’s Traffic Safety Unit is investigating to determine if speed was a factor.
