A single-vehicle crash on Route 70 claimed the life of a Brick Township woman Thursday, police said.
Police say Lynda Brown, 60, of Brick, was not wearing a seatbelt when her 2012 Ford Escape crossed the centerline and ran off the roadway on the south bound shoulder of Beckerville Road in Manchester at the Route 70 intersection. The accident occurred Thursday, Nov. 5 at 5:28 p.m., said Capt. Todd Malland.
The Ford ultimately collided with a utility pole and continued forward into the wood line where it impacted a tree. Both the front and side curtain airbags of the Ford were deployed, but Brown was found unresponsive when first responders arrived. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash and the manner of death are pending investigation at this time, Malland said.
