Brick Township, in its annual Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony, marked 20 years since the terror attacks that claimed the lives of eight township residents and thousands more in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.
After prayers and words of comfort by local clergy, Mayor John Ducey read the names of Brick residents who died in the attacks before attendees lined up to leave candles under the Angel in Anguish statue at Windward Beach Park, which is inscribed with each of those names.
