Who knew?
A cloudy afternoon turned into a dazzling display of nature’s fall colors on Barnegat Bay Thursday night. We do love our sunset photos and videos here at Shorebeat, but this one caught us by surprise.
After a day of work, it was time to go for the first “zipped up” boat ride of the season, with the console windscreens firmly in place. You know the time of year – keep your batteries fresh for a day of fishing, take in a few deep breaths of the cold air and enjoy “local fall” on the bay, usually a solo affair.
At about the break of the Metedeconk River into Gunner’s Ditch and Barnegat Bay, a few rays of sunshine peaked out from behind the clouds. Within minutes, the sky turned into a fiery light show more reminiscent of a postcard from the southwest coast of Reykjavik than the Jersey Shore. But there we were – with an iPhone only in hand, but we (hopefully… that’s up to you!) made it work.
