Earlier this week, demolition began on the Herbertsville Deli – a saga of deterioration covered by Shorebeat over the course of several years – and by Friday, the job was completed.

The landmark deli and meat market (the sign for which was unceremoniously laying in its old parking lot) was completely torn down and the debris had been removed. There was no, or at least minimal, rubble or construction material remaining. The bare lot appeared larger than it had when the building remained.
