Document Shredding Event to be Held in Brick This Weekend

Ocean County’s free document shredding program is coming to Brick this weekend, officials announced, giving residents an easy way to securely dispose of sensitive documents that may have piled up over the years.

The Ocean County Department of Solid Waste Management’s Residential Document Shredding Program will visit the Brick Public Works Recycling Center, 836 Ridge Road, this Saturday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. The service is free for all Ocean County residents.

The event will be open for the allotted time or until the truck fills. All documents will be destroyed confidentially on-site. The event is open to residents only, no businesses. The collectors will accept paper only, with a maximum of five file boxes or clear bags (no black bags). Loads containing unacceptable items may be rejected. Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles.

No books, junk mail, greeting cards, photos, x-rays, CDs/DVDs, batteries or electronics may be disposed of in the document shredder.
