Brick Township officials are seeking public input in discussions on land preservation and the development of parks and outdoor facilities in town, with numerous in-person opportunities to speak directly with township staff as well as the establishment of an online survey now available to residents.
According to officials, in order to optimize funding from grant sources such as the state’s Green Acres program, the township is updating its original Open Space and Recreation Plan completed in 2000 to reflect current trends in open space and recreational needs.
The public is invited to help staff develop the plan through a series of outreach efforts, including a public hearing on Dec. 11, 2024 at 6 p.m., a pop-up table at the Fall Farmers Market on Nov. 23, 2024 and through the survey link below.

“Please help us plan for the future park and recreational amenities in the township by responding to the survey,” an announcement of the outreach effort said.
The survey asks how often a resident uses Brick’s parks and outdoor spaces, what types of activities they enjoy, and if there are any examples of new activities or equipment that the township should consider making available. Residents are asked what they like most about the township’s parks, how they use them, and what improvements should be made in order to make them safer and more enjoyable. There is also a question on what recreational programs should be established or expanded.
The survey is available via the township’s website at this link.
