Brick Township’s Teen Center will celebrate a grand-reopening Tuesday after upgrades and additions that were added after it closed during the pandemic era.
Located within Civic Plaza at 270 Chambers Bridge Road, the Teen Center opened in 2017 as a place where teens could gather in a safe environment and enjoy a number of amenities and recreational programs. Like most social gathering places, it closed during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, and has since undergone a major refresh leading up to this week’s reopening.
According to township officials, the transformation includes brand new murals painted by a special volunteer artist – Mayor Lisa Crate herself. The revitalized space also features Apple computers, board and video games, puzzles, arts and crafts, foosball, pop-a-shot basketball and dedicated homework spaces.

The Teen Center will be open to all Brick residents in grades 6 through 12, and is completely free to attend. It “offers something for everyone,” Crate said.
Going forward, the township has exciting plans in the coming months, including themed movie nights, video game tournaments, karaoke and open mic nights, plus craft sessions and more.
In addition to fun and activities, the Teen Center will also offer volunteer opportunities, leadership workshops and youth-focused programs that help teens grow into “confident, community-minded individuals,” the township said in its announcement. Local youth groups are welcome to use the space for meetings and events. (Any group interested in booking space should contact Brandi White at 732-262-1053.)
The grand reopening will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. Beginning Wednesday, the Teen Center will be open Monday through Friday, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
