A Brick Township man has pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a handgun following a court-authorized search of a home on Rocky Mountain Boulevard last year, and is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail as an unrelated charge remains pending.

Justin Holden, 42, of Brick, entered the guilty plea Friday before Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer in connection with an incident that occurred on Feb. 27, 2024. That day, in furtherance of an ongoing investigation, the Brick Township Police Department Special Emergency Response Team executed search warrants at a residence at the Rocky Mountain Boulevard home as well as a motor vehicle owned by Holden. As a result, officers seized a Glock G43 9mm handgun and hollow point ammunition.

According to prosecutors, further investigation revealed that the handgun had been reported stolen out of Georgia. As a result, Holden was charged accordingly on a warrant and his name was entered into the National Crime Information Center Database. On March 11, 2024, Holden was taken into custody by Brick police officers and was transported to the Ocean County Jail. He was subsequently released pursuant to New Jersey’s bail reform policy.
