Brick officials last week solicited bids for the repaving of streets in two neighborhoods and awarded a contract for a similar project in a third.

The township council voted unanimously to solicit bids for a roadway improvement project in the Kingfisher Cove neighborhood, located off Mantoloking Road along the Metedeconk River. The project includes repaving, drainage improvements, the re-striping of roadways and the rebuilding of some of the local drainage network. The repairs and upgrades will be made to Beach Plum Road, Wintergreen Avenue, Arbutus Avenue and Kingfisher Circle.

The council also voted to solicit bids for the repaving of several streets in the Lions Head South development off Beaverson Boulevard. That project will include the milling and repaving of several roads, including Laurel Lane North, Pam Lane, Thames Place, Garland Drive, Meadowbrook Road, Eric Court, Marta Court and Floral Drive.

Contracts will be awarded at a future council meeting, assuming bids are returned within the budget for both projects.

Finally, the council awarded a contract for the repaving and drainage improvements in the Timber Ridge Estates neighborhood, located off Van Zile Road. The $589,223 contract was awarded to Meco, Inc., of Clarksburg, the low bidder. The repaving and improvements will be completed on Red Maple Drive, Blue Spruce Place and White Pine Court. Residents will be notified when construction is set to begin.
