It’s the time of year where the weather can occasionally be frightful, but Brick officials are already planning beach operations for the next summer season.
The township council last week voted to solicit two bids for food concession services at its two full-service public beaches. Both beaches are home to buildings where concession stands already exist, including a newly-renovated facility at Brick Beach III, the southernmost public beach. The township does not operate the day-to-day stands itself, but rather contracts with a small business to do so each season.
The previous vendor at Brick Beach I was Big Blue Wrap and Roll, of Pine Beach, a food truck and catering service. That business paid$19,200 for its previous lease of the facility. The last vendor at Brick Beach III was Castaway Kitchen, of Brick, which paid $16,202.

Township officials said the current leasing opportunity would be for a three-year contract at each facility. The bids are being solicited separately for each concession stand.
