A developer is proposing to build six residences and an office on a property on Mantoloking Road, according to a planning board filing published Christmas Eve.
The notice contained minimal information on the proposal, and Shorebeat has requested the full application packet provided to the township for a follow-up later this week. But the project is planned for the properties at 835 and 841 Mantoloking Road – located near the office of the former Mantoloking Taxi company – and will be heard by the township’s Zoning Board of Adjustment Jan. 21, 2026. The lot at 835 Mantoloking Road contains a building that has fallen into disrepair, and the 841 lot is undeveloped and mostly wooded. It is located between Manchester Avenue and Monmouth Avenue on the south side of the road.
The project calls for a building that would contain six residences and an office on the lot, which spans the block between the two side streets. The application from the Hazlet-based developer requires approval from the zoning board since only two residences would normally be permitted on the property.
