Brick officials last week awarded a contract that will provide for improvement and the repaving of St. Lawrence Boulevard in the southern portion of the township.
The council unanimously awarded a $467,653 contract to Meco Inc., of Clarksburg, N.J. The project consists of the mill and overlay of the roadway surface — grinding the existing pavement and applying a new asphalt layer – between Catalina Drive and the easterly terminus of the road. That area covers, essentially, the entire roadway.
The project includes about 17,000 square yards of milling and 2,050 tons of new asphalt surface course, according to bid documents. It also provides for traffic striping and updated signage as part of the resurfacing to improve lane markings and driver guidance.
