Brick council members, at their reorganization meeting this week, voted to continue the township’s relationship with A-Academy of South Jersey for animal control services.
The company took over animal control services for the township from the Jersey Shore Animal Shelter in 2015 and has continued in the role ever since. The new contract will see A-Academy, based in Howell, handle animal control through Dec. 31, 2026. The prices of the firm’s services for 2026 are the same as in 2025: the base price is $6,900 monthly, adding up to $82,800 per year for calls during normal business hours – Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
After hours calls will be billed at $125 per call on weeknights, including Fridays and during the daytime hours on Saturdays. Calls on Saturday nights will be billed at $150 per call, and Sundays will be billed at $175 per call. Holiday responses on township-observed holidays will cost $195 per call.
